Monthly Float – Twelve Rivers

by Ozark Mountain Paddlers on January 16, 2013

“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man” ~ Heraclitus

I’m always amazed at how much a river can change in a short amount of time.  With that in mind, I plan to run the same stretch of river once a month for a year.  I’m calling it the Twelve Rivers Float, and I’m starting this coming Saturday, Jan 19th.

We’ll meet at Creighton Access on the James, just east of Springfield on Battlefield Rd (Kinser Bridge area) at 11:30, run shuttle to Southwood  Access on Lake Springfield, and try to be on the water by 12:30.  Should be off by 5.

Bring your gear, some warm clothes and a snack and join us as we kick off the 2013 OMP Monthly Float series!

Not this month for me? March or April maybe. I’m an old man & need warmer weather before I get my kayak out. Would like to join in on a few floats later.
