June 15th, 2019: Our trip from Greer to Whitten started with overcast skies and distant rumbles of thunder. We had a good turnout and put in on time. We saw the sun from time to time along with a nice headwind. As is typical, not a breeze could be found while loading our boats at the takeout.
The water was clear, cold, moving along nicely and we had the campground and river to ourselves with the exception of a small paddling group from Memphis, TN.
Thanks to Clint Claybaker for the snickerdoodles and to Jodi and Chad for attending their first monthly float. The first of many we hope. – Larry Wantland
