We had a great time on Bryant Creek Saturday, August 18, preceded by 7 of us camping at Patrick Bridge on Friday night. Craig brought a nice fire log and a magic stick that provided some nice color changes for the fire. What started out as a quiet evening, in the middle of the night, turned into some disagreements between our camping neighbors that included a visit from law enforcement!?! Other than depriving us of a little sleep, all was OK. The next morning we met 12 others who joined us for the 7+ mile float, including a visitor (new member, Kevin), from Columbia, MO, and a couple who were on their honeymoon after being married the day before.
The float itself was extremely enjoyable: perfect weather, great company and just the right distance to paddle. We could have used just a bit more water (in my humble opinion) but not having 500 people with us on the river more than made up for a couple of places where we had to push (or pull) our kayaks/canoes over rocks.
Thank you to all who participated. It was a float I’d do again in a heartbeat! (Probably wouldn’t camp at Patrick Bridge though – just sayin’) -Terri Bradley
