2008 Canoe and Recreational Kayak Clinic

If you want to learn the basics of canoeing or kayaking: strokes, boat control, safety and trip planning – this is the clinic for you! This class is geared toward the beginner who wants to learn how to have a fun, safe day on the river. It is also great for the beginner who would like to work up to taking our Spring Whitewater Clinic. The clinic will be held on Saturday, June 2, 9am-5pm.  It is open to anyone who is in good physical condition, is 12 years or older, has at least basic swimming skills, and has no excessive fear of being in or around the water.

American Canoe Association certified instructors and volunteer assistant - safety persons will teach the clinic.  They will be donating their time, vehicles, and efforts. The size of the clinic is limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve. Applications will be accepted through May 26.

If you do not have your own equipment you should contact either Galloway Creek Outfitters (417-887-10050) or Dynamic Earth (417-877-8855) to inquire about rentals or demo boats.

Bring your own lunch and drinks for the day. No pets. No alcoholic
